Our Guide to Attending a Performance at The Valley Community Theatre!

Image of our main auditorium

Introduction:

We at the valley community theatre love to put on pantomimes or performances for the local community

Today we will be making a guide for those new

So, you can know what to expect from one of our performances and help you plan your evening.

1. Purchasing Tickets:

To start this guide off we are going to go over purchasing your tickets to attend one of our amazing performances,

all tickets are to be bought online through our events page linked here.

If you struggle to pay online or cannot pay online

you can contact us here and arrange to pay at the door on the day of the pantomime.

When you purchase a ticket

there is no pre planned seating arrangement

so, you can sit where you want when you enter our Auditorium.

If you have mobility needs or a wheelchair user,

please contact us here to reserve a front row seat.

If the performance is a music gig, then usually it would be a standing event only

however, a wheelchair user friendly section will be made available so just contact us here.

2. Arrival and Seating:

Next,

we will be covering your arrival to the valley community theatre and seating in the auditorium before the performance.

If you drive to us,

we do have a small carpark for you to park in

however, this will fill up quickly, so we recommend arriving early

as if it is full you will have to find a parking spot elsewhere.

Once you are at the door you may be asked to show your digital ticket you purchased online (unless you have contacted us about needing to pay at the door).

Once you are within our main reception,

we hope you will enjoy

purchasing drinks and snacks from our café/bar until the performance is about to start.

When the doors to the auditorium open you will be welcomed to take you seat

our capacity is 130

but we will add chairs to increase our total capacity to 150 if we need to on the night

so do not worry about not being able to find a seat.

Once again, you can sit where you feel most comfortable

if you have reserved a front row seat it will be available to you.

After you have seated,

a member off staff will give instructions on our health and safety measures and housekeeping rules

to make sure we can ensure the experience to be both fun and safe.

 Then the performance will start!

3. During the Performance:

With certain performances e.g. pantomimes,

we encourage audience interaction

although this does depend on the individual pantomime or event we have on

so, you could always ask a member of staff if you are unsure.

The performance is split into 2 parts

with the first part being longer than the second with an intermission in between

so, it is a great idea to get plenty of snacks and drinks for the first half from our café/bar,

so, you don’t run out and enjoy the show.

4. Intermission Etiquette:

The Intermission will happen after the first half

and is the perfect time to go the toilets which are located in the foyer area

or restock on snacks and drinks from our café/bar before the second half starts.

When the second half is about to start you will be requested to once again return to your seat for the final half of our amazing performance.

5. Post-Performance:

At the end of the performance,

you will be able to exit via the main exit in the foyer.

However, in most circumstances

you will still be able to purchase items from our café/bar before you exit should you want to take some snacks home with you.

Conclusion:

We hope you have found this guide useful

in knowing what to expect by attending your first performance at the Valley Community Theatre.
